Just curious what are the situations where a Temporary Flight Restriction is needed? if for example there's a plane incident in an airport and there news drones around, can this be issued?
Yep, TFR can absolutely be issued for stuff like that. If there's a crash or serious incident at an airport, the FAA can throw up a TFR real quick to keep other air users out of the way but unrelated often times you also see TFRs for things like wildfires, VIP movement (like the President), big sporting events, or space launches just basically if there's any need to control the airspace temporarily, they can lock it down.Just curious what are the situations where a Temporary Flight Restriction is needed? if for example there's a plane incident in an airport and there news drones around, can this be issued?
yep, couldn't agree more. let me add some insights about the news drones; if a TFR is issued for an incident, any drones (news or otherwise) flying within that TFR would be illegal and in violation of the restriction. The TFR's purpose is precisely to keep that airspace clearYep, TFR can absolutely be issued for stuff like that.
